Ice River Springs employees from across North America organized and participated in various activities in the week after Earth Day. Here are our teams cleaning up, planting trees and a vegetable garden and visiting a school to talk about recycling.
A cleanup crew from Ice River Springs and Blue Mountain Plastics spent the day picking up garbage and where possible recycling it. We are grateful to Tammy Schneider from Snapd who joined us and took our picture at no charge.
Environmentally friendly activities are a natural extension of what we do every day, when for instance we sort every scrap of waste into six different bins so it can be recycled into something useful and nothing goes to landfill.
Pittsfield Plant Manager Mark Gott, Melissa Farinon and Jenipher DiNicola visited a local school and gave a presentation on recycling to the grade 1 & 2 students for Earth Day.
Here is our Lachute plant doing their thing on Earth Day. They cleaned up a local park area.
Our Morganton facility planted a vegetable garden this spring and spent Earth Day weeding it and planting more trees! They planted 3 Japanese maple, 8 fruit trees – peach, apple and pear and potatoes, onions, lettuce, okra, cilantro and corn.
